The payment card industry compliance and validation regulations apply to financial institutions, processors and businesses that accept credit cards. The rules spell out what security measures must be taken to protect the private information of cardholders during any transaction occurring with the use of a credit or debit card. Certain auditing procedures are also required.

How to Begin the Compliance Process
- Go to http://www.compliance101.com and click on the “Get Started” button.
- You will see a login screen. Your username is your merchant number, located in the top right-hand corner of your monthly statement. Your password for this initial visit is compliance101; you will be prompted to change the password upon your first login.
- After you login, follow the instructions to fill in the Self-Assessment Questionnaire.
Based on equipment and type of business, some merchants may be required to pass a quarterly network security scan of their systems. This will be determined during the self-assessment process. If you have questions, please contact RPN Customer Service or call us at 800.563.5981.
